Accessibility statement

Goodwin Living believes that everyone should be able to use the tools that support our team. This page summarises how we apply accessibility standards to Goodwin Resolve.

Our commitment

Goodwin Living is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.

The Goodwin Resolve Employee Relations platform is part of this commitment. We design, build, and test against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

Conformance status

The Goodwin Resolve application is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not yet fully conform to the accessibility standard.

  • All authenticated pages targeting the WCAG 2.1 AA standard pass axe-core automated audits with zero serious or critical violations in both light and dark themes.
  • All interactive components meet a minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for body text and 3:1 for large text and non-text contrast.
  • All form fields are paired with a programmatic <label> or accessible name.
  • A skip-to-content link is the first focusable element on every authenticated page.

Accessibility features

  • Full keyboard support — Tab order matches reading order, Esc closes dialogs, and a visible 2-pixel focus ring is rendered on every interactive element via :focus-visible.
  • Light and dark themes — Each user can select Light, Dark, or System from their profile. Both themes meet WCAG 2.1 AA contrast.
  • Screen-reader friendly markup — every chart includes a parallel role="img" description, every table uses semantic <th scope>, and dialogs trap focus while open.
  • Reduced-motion support — animation utilities respect prefers-reduced-motion.

Known limitations

  • Some legacy uploaded PDF documents may not include a complete accessibility tag tree. A flagged copy can be requested from your HR partner.
  • A small number of decorative chart fills are reported as incomplete (rather than failing) by automated tooling because they are alpha-blended; manual review confirms compliant on-screen contrast for the visible labels.

Assessment approach

Goodwin Living assessed the accessibility of Goodwin Resolve through the methodology of self-evaluation, supplemented by automated testing using axe-core 4.10 and manual keyboard, screen-reader, and colour-contrast audits.

Detailed audit notes are maintained internally in /docs/ACCESSIBILITY.md and are reviewed each release.
